About us

Verna Greer, MD, MBA, MS, CNS

We are a Professional Telehealth Service

Dr. Greer has always aspired to have a deeper understanding of the relationship between nutrition, physical, and emotional wellbeing, on overall health. More recently, she has become fascinated by the effect of nutrition on chronic conditions like connective tissue disorders.

Dr. Greer earned a Bachelor of Art in Africana Studies and Alternate Chemistry from Cornell University, followed by a Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College. She then completed her residency at the former St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Centers in New York City, and became dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

She has fifteen years of experience working as an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Hospitalist during which time she has served as a Medical Director, President of the Medical Staff, and Department Chair of Pediatrics, followed by two years as an Urgent Care Provider.

During these seventeen years, Dr. Greer has pursued further education aligning with her aforementioned interests, by completing a Healthcare Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University, a Certification in Functional Medicine from the Institute for Functional Medicine, and a Masters in Human Nutrition from The University of Bridgeport.

She completed her Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) internship at Clinical Paradigms/ Mast Cell Advance Diagnostics which is an integrative practice specializing in mast cell activation disorders, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other connective tissues diseases, dysautonomia, immunodeficiencies, autoimmune neurological issues, and other rare “zebra” disorders, and eventually became a part of their team (www.mastcelladvanceddiagnostics.com).

Dr. Greer strongly believes that improving one’s quality of life can only be achieved if health and wellbeing are central and a priority in an individual’s life. Health is not just a compilation of one’s medical conditions, but represents a state of emotional, mental and physical wellbeing within the context of environment and lifestyle- an analysis of our state of being at any given time should not be simplified into just dysfunction of specific organ systems, but rather, in-depth recognition and evaluation of the interplay of these components of well-being, which in turn can result in more effective solutions geared towards improved healing and wellness.
